This research discusses circulation system of a spatial unit and focuses on unit form and its functionality to identify to what extent future development responds to the existing context, contributes to the visual image of the area, and addresses functional requirements, such as safe and efficient circulation, and is discussed under three design categories street layout, road reserve and intersection control. Urban design combines planning metrics in order to determine street layout and accessibility of neighborhoods, interactions between buildings and public spaces, provision of green spaces. Therefore, it has the potential to influence physical activity and wellbeing and it is the discipline that indirectly determines accessibility of the built environment.
